9 Month Statistics

I have to say this is such a fun age. Tanner is constantly making us laugh and smile. He is a very, and I mean very busy boy. It is so much fun playing with him and watching him "work."

Weight: 18.10 25th Percentile
Height: 29.5 in 90th Percentile
Head Circumference: 18 55th Percentile

1. Toys in Hand while crawling: He always likes to have something. His favorites are a little plastic phone or a duck rattle (neither are very cute). He also loves to take these toys to the store or where ever we go.
2. Swimming: Tanner and I have been enjoying swimming about 2 times a week. Everyone at the pool is 75+ and loves Tanner. They all know his name and when we get there they are all taking their turns saying hi. The funniest part is that there are only two people that know my name- I guess we know who would win in a popularity contest.
3. His Own Best Friend: Tanner loves to look at himself in the mirror, and of course he needs to be standing.

5. Standing and walking: Jumping has taken a back seat to this. He is standing all the time and has gotten quite a few bruises in the process. He can walk all along the couch and transfer over to the chair without missing a beat. The funny thing is that when he gets excited he goes so fast that some of his steps are a little too big. He also thinks that he can walk without holding onto something if he thinks you are holding him. He will just let go and take a step-which will end up to be a face plant. Poor little man.
6. Midnight Crawling: This is funny, although I would like to use the time to sleep. Tanner will wake up and be crawling around in his crib. The only problem is that he is not all the way awake and so he is crashing into the sides and falling down. When he does it in bed with us he will usually crash onto my stomach and fall asleep (this part I love). Other times he will crawl right next to Brad and fall asleep (and of course he loves that).
7. Rocking to sleep: I mean this quite literally. We dance with him while listening to Juanes (a Latin group) to get him to sleep. He starts out swinging his little legs, but by the end of the song is fast asleep.
8. Opening and Closing: This applys to anything that will open and close. On his activity table he will open and close the play computer over and over again. I have to be close by because sometimes he will get his hand in there and will be pushing it down with the other. With the cupboards it is hard to tell which side opens and which side is has the hinges and he will often try to open the wrong side and boy does he get mad.


9. Charging: When Brad or I get down in crawling position Tanner will put his head down and charge us laughing the whole time. When he gets to us he will go right through our legs.
10. Eating: well this is going OK, but be sure not to say "Ahh" or "Yum" because Tanner will break down into tears.


11. Panting: When Tanner wants to nurse he will crawl up and start to pant as if he were completely famished.
12. Talking/Sining: His favorite things to say are (in order) dada, mama (only when he is fussing a little), baba, nana. He also loves to sing when there is music and it is very funny at church- he can get a little loud. If he is standing he will dance to anything that resembles music.
13. Full Body Flex: This happens when ever Tanner gets frustrated...so basically a lot throughout the day.
14. Diapers: OK this is not a love of his and it resembles steer wrestling more than an actual diaper change.
15. Cords: Any cord that he can see he will crawl to as fast as he can and try to pull it. We have stapled our cords out, but he will still pull at them until he can get them to start move (we are constantly trying to put a pillow or tape to distract him.


16. Pushing: tanner loves to push anything around, a box, paper, or laundry basket.
