Tanner 2 Years

Weight: 25.14 lb 12%
Height: 35 in 50 %
Head: 19 in 45%

Tanner...what do you say about Tanner. I feel like he is at such a funny age that I could go on and on about all the funny things he does everyday. Here are some and some of his favorite things in the past couple months.

1. Jackson is a big deal and NEEDS his binky always. He also likes to help pick him up-he doesn't care too much about holding him, in fact he rarely does, but he wants to pick him up and share water etc. with him always. When Jackson cries he is the first to arrive on the scene and is trying to pick him up- I have to tell him to just sing to him until I can get there, which leads to #2.
2. Singing- Tanner loves to sing and be sung to. His favorite songs to sing are Poppie (popcorn popping on the apricot tree), Head shoulders knees and toes, ABC's. He also loves to listen to Jason Mraz-"I'm Yours" and will sing along.
3. ABC's- he really has learned the song on his own and we just practice it together. His favorite letter is W and we find it everywhere we go. I really didn't know how many W's are out there.
4. One of the things I will here him saying when he is playing by himself is, "knock knock, whose there, Tanner, OK." He also likes to say, "mark get set go" for anything.
5. He likes to know what belongs to whom and likes to refer to his things as Manners.
6. Outside- He would stay out 24 hrs a day if I would let him. He will also run until the person with him cannot run anymore-he always seems to keep going.
7. Bike- He has gotten really fast on his bike and rides it all over the house rather than walks. One of his absolute favorite things is to go on walks with it outside. When he gets tired of ridding he will look at his dad and say, "hold it." It is so funny to see him scoot around.
8. Planes, trains, Automobiles- He loves them all and can spot a plane 1000's of miles away, even at night. Other favorites are cycicles (motorcycles), semis, buses, bikes, and of course tractors.
9. Swimming- He has been swimming everyday with his dad and loves it- especially in the hot tub. The other day he was cold because Brad had him jumping in the pool and as he was standing on the edge he was telling Brad, "cold, cold." Then all of a sudden he looked at him and said, "Ooh hot." Good thing he was outside the pool...
10. Ribbit- most people call this jumping, he likes to refer to it as ribbiting. He will climb on everything and ask with his eyebrows raised, "Mom, ribbit."
11. Awareness- he observes and retains EVERYTHING. He saw a shovel at my sisters house that her husband was using to clean up after the dogs and later found me a picture of one and told me, "Mom, Jon, Yucks." His newest thing is trying to nurse Jackson-it is quite a site.
12. Memory- in addition to noticing everything he remembers everything. If I tell him we have to wait for dad for something early in the morning it is the first thing he will tell Brad when he gets home.
13. "Here ya go babe." Apparently this is what I say and now it is what Tanner says anytime he gives anyone anything. He also likes to refer to Brad as Honey.
14. Talking- He can say anything and tries to. If he hears a new word he will repeat it until he has it down. He also likes to break words up into syllables and pronounces each one with emphasis.
15. Pretend- he likes to pretend his bike is a horse and a motorcycle, or if I bend down I am a motorcycle as well. He also loves to draw things and tells me they are things like pancakes (I am not sure he is pretending or he really thinks that is what he has drawn).
16. Counting- This goes on all day from 1-10 in Spanish and English. He is now learning higher numbers and so I now hear 10, 13, 17, 12, 24, 18, 11, 19, 20 with a big finale.
17. Isabel- Tanner's cousin that is 9 days younger than him is probably his best friend (although he does love ALL of his cousins). They play so cute together and are always nice to each other. They always share and if they get something they will want the other to have one too. When they play they always like to clap their hands and then throw their arms into the air making fists-it is like their little hand shake. It is so fun to have them together-the only problem is they sure do like to find new things to get into and they encourage one another.

Jackson 2 Month

Weight: 11.12 lb 50 %
Height: 23 1/2 in 75%
Head: 15 3/4 in 50%

Jackson is still so sweet and is finally starting to have some awake time. Tanner and I love our awake times with him during the day and will just sit and talk to him. We all want Jackson to lay by us all the time and so we have to take turns. Tanner will cry to have him lay by him-and while he lays there he gives him hugs and kisses (both need to be monitored by me). The funniest is that he tries to make Jackson kiss him-and being a good sport Jackson will let him turn his head any way. He is such a good baby and I feel so blessed that he is mine-I still can't believe that I get to keep him. Here are some of our favorite things about Jackson and some of his favorite things right now.

Baths: He would stay in all day if he could just kicking and watching what is going on with Tanner.

Diaper changes: He loves to get his diaper changed or even just set on the changing table. This is so funny to me because he used to hate being undressed for anything. Part of me thinks that he loves it so much because he knows he has a captive audience while he is being changed.

Talking: He LOVES to talk. He tells stories and complains-both have different facial expressions. And when he first gets me to start talking to him he gets so excited with such a big smile that he almost laughs. We all take turns talking to him because we love it so much.

Pushing Off: Any time Jackson can feel something that he can push off of with his feet he does and gets so mad until he is moved. It is so funny because he will be perfectly content on my lap until he realizes that something is there.

Elmo's World

Tanner is 2!!! It is crazy that he is so big. It is even hard to remember him before he could walk. He fills our life every day with laughter. For his birthday we had an Elmo pool party. We also celebrated Rachel's birthday since it is the same day. It was a ton of fun with family and friends.
